In January 2025, Sigma laid out their intentions for a year of change; their mission? To rebuild a new legacy from the ground up. Leaning into the darker sounds of their early releases, fusing it with their signature anthemic sound and the razor-sharp relevance of current club tastes – “DAY ONE” represents a creative maturity for an act that helped pave the way for the mainstream acceptance of drum’n’bass.
Thrust into the major label machine a decade ago, Sigma’s subsequent success undeniably defined them as powerhouse producers, but the double-edged sword of this breakneck journey under the microscope of the public eye left the pair’s original creative vision for the Sigma project somewhat blurred.
Enlisting new and underground talent – from Dizzee Rascal and Stefflon Don, to Jamakabi and Scrufizzer – taking things back to basics at every level has been paramount for Joe and Cameron; an empowering attitude that permeates the new music and label ethos.
