Wasting no time, Arcadia opens with ethereal pads and heavenly vocals before dropping into Hybrid’s classic touch: amens sliced ’n’ diced like onions with a bubbling 808 bass holding down the low end. This one dances back and forth between amen tear outs and cool steppage.
Following on, the title track Ghetto Blaster, is a heady blend of time stretched drums, tight chops, dark reeses and 808s. As the name suggests, this is heavy new-school jungle done right.
Euphoria fuses classic hardcore stabbage with new-age rolling breaks, throwing in a hint of DnB for good measure. It’s proper feel-good business with a nostalgic bite.
Finally, Gone begins with angelic, breathy pads that darken into wobbling bass and slamming amen breaks – an evolution of Hybrid’s range that’s certain to tear down a dance.
